Designed using a combination of Nike’s 270 Air unit with React lightweight foam technology, these Nike Air Max 270 React Shoes use a selection of textural materials to create a bright and experimental Bauhaus inspired design. A fusion of functionality and creativity is presented through layered phantom, university gold and university red overlays which adorn the side panels, edges of the webbed lacing system and heel. White mesh uppers accentuate the vibrant colour pops further and everything is held into place using a bar tack technique inspired by the Element React 87 which creates a super clean, floating finish. At the back of the heel a ribbed fabric tab aids entrance and throughout the inside of the style, the artistic design continues across the insole with a custom print design. The sculpted heel unit includes a translucent Max Air unit which ensures cushioning and support within every step, whilst around the front of the foot carved away style lines add further texture to the design.
Coinciding with the 100th year anniversary of the Bauhaus art movement, Nike have looked to signature aesthetics and characteristics of artwork produced from the German design school to create a distinctive, experimental footwear style. Borrowing aspects from archival models, performance runs throughout and ensures reliable cushioning when worn for everyday wear.
